18 Rabbits at BoHo!

  • October 23, 2009 2:14 pm

If you haven’t had 18 Rabbits before (and we’re not talking about in a stew or running loose in the backyard) then you certainly shouldn’t have missed out on their great granola bar sampling event yesterday. Zack was set up outside BoHo in the beautiful (and unusual!) October sunshine, chatting with passersby and giving out free tastes of the deliciously natural, wheat or dairy-free granola bars handmade in San Francisco. If you weren’t able to make it down yesterday, be sure to drop by before Sunday to pick some up – at only $1.50 each! – for yourself. You won’t be disappointed, we promise!

Petrosino Park Opens This Morning!

  • October 13, 2009 6:22 pm
Lt. Joseph Petrosino
After over a year in renovation, the little sitting park across the street from BoHo is officially opening this morning! It’s named after Lieutenant Joseph Petrosino, a New York City police officer from the era of mobsters and wise guys. During his day, he was in charge of the Italian Squad, an elite corps of detectives that sought to deal with organized crime, specifically that of the Mafia.
Word has it that his great-great-grandsons are in NYC from Italy, and that the Department of Parks & Recreation had to haul – ahem, bricks? – to finish the job for them to see. Which is fantastic news for all you BoHo friends, since now you can get a snack, grab a hot cup of fall goodness and have a seat in this lovely little park square.

Welcome to the Boho Bodega

  • October 13, 2009 6:16 pm

The New York City corner store is a place where commerce and convenience merge. In the City That Never Sleeps, New Yorkers are constantly frequenting their local bodega for that quick, on-the-go product – a cup of coffee, paper towels, a candy bar. Beyond being a one-stop easy-shop, the corner store has evolved into a vital factor in the life-blood of its community by bringing neighborhood folks together.

BoHo Bodega will offer customers the classic New York City corner store experience through its ambiance, convenience and theatrics, all the while using environmentally-conscious practices and eco-friendly materials for its construction. BoHo will fully function as any other corner store would by providing its community with a friendly, quick and convenient shopping experience.

Instead of targeting only the green consumer, BoHo will appeal to the greater public in its typical neighborhood shop atmosphere. To accomplish this, it will be fully outfitted with the usual shelves, racks, counters, and refrigerators that can be found in any corner store. In addition to the cashier and deli person, MAKE will hire professional actors to perform as stereotypical New Yorker bodega personnel around the clock. This will immerse customers entirely in the quickie shopping experience, and create an exciting exchange between patrons and their “local” bodega man.
